In "Frio, 2024" — which takes as its starting point the photographic archive of Ção Pestana's 1994 performance "Frio" — the focus is on material performance: the mechanical action of household appliances, with their relatively predictable automatisms and functions, their symbolism in domestic space, and the presence and occupation of the body, which is no longer the sole protagonist of performativity.
This creation, as a whole, is composed of fragments from a conversation with Ção Pestana, held on February 1st, 2024, at the Performing the Archive space (Porto), where her early scientific training, pedagogical work, and academic research were discussed, as well as her involvement in "actions" contributing to the emerging concept of performance. Ideas about technology and its symbiosis with the "natural," new forms of representation, and emancipation through the use of new media were also explored, with particular emphasis on her aesthetic approach, which reconciles with science, particularly biology.

Em “Frio, 2024” — que toma como ponto de partida o arquivo de registos fotográficos da performance de Ção Pestana intitulada “Frio”, 1994 — enfatiza-se a performance material: a ação mecânica dos electrodomésticos, nos seus automatismos relativamente previsíveis e funções, o seu simbolismo no espaço doméstico, a presença e a ocupação do corpo — já não o único protagonista de performatividade.
Esta criação, no seu todo, é composta por fragmentos de uma conversa com Ção Pestana, ocorrida no dia 1 de fevereiro de 2024, no espaço Performing the Archive (Porto), na qual se abordou a sua formação científica inicial, o trabalho pedagógico e a investigação académica que desenvolveu, bem como a sua participação em “ações” na construção do conceito emergente de performance. Foram discutidas ideias sobre tecnologia e simbiose com o “natural”, novas formas de representação e a emancipação através do recurso a novos media, destacando-se a sua proposta estética, reconciliada com a ciência, nomeadamente com a biologia.
